Avon and Somerset Police and partners are holding a Safer Business Action (SaBA) Day in Bristol on 8th March 2023 to help tackle local crime and anti-social behaviour impacting the business community.
The objective of the day is to deliver a focused operation with joint patrols, the targeted intervention of prolific offenders and a range of crime prevention activities supported by the National Business Crime Centre, Broadmead Business Improvement District, private security companies, and businesses across the Broadmead area.
In addition to targeting prolific offenders and those responsible for anti-social behaviour in the city the Safer Business Action Day will see engagement with businesses, members of the public, and the distribution of crime prevention advice.
Darren Conway, Group Managing Director of Lodge Service said ‘’Collaboration is one of the most important components of ensuring public safety in any community. Effective collaboration between government agencies, support networks, security services, businesses, and individuals allows for the development of strategies to reduce crime. By working together on initiatives such as SaBA days it allows us to focus on creating strong relationships between us all and create a powerful barrier to those intent on undertaking criminal behaviour. Lodge are proud to support the NBCC in delivering these days of action.
Superintendent Patrick Holdaway of the National Business Crime Centre said “SaBA Days are a national initiative coordinated by the NBCC and partners. Although locally based, they bring with them a national reach, helping to develop local, trusted relationships between police and the business community. We know that smaller independent businesses in particular can be significantly impacted by crimes such as vandalism, abuse and violence, shoplifting and ASB. The SaBA Days are an effective way of targeting resources in a designated location to reduce crime and tackle offenders.”
