Lodge Service has taken the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) pledge to acknowledge and support the contribution of those who serve or who have served in the UK armed forces, and their families.
The security consultancy is currently working with Andy Reid of charity Standing Tall Foundation and Morson Talent, supporting the employment of forces’ veterans, whom Lodge Service will help to find work in the security industry.
In October 2009, Corporal Andy Reid MBE stepped on a Taliban improvised explosive device while on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. A triple amputee, he has gone on to carry out many arduous challenges to raise money and give back to the associations that helped him and his family through difficult times.
Lodge Service is also now applying for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) in addition to the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support the armed forces community and inspire others to do the same. The scheme offers bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that demonstrate support and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Darren Conway, Group Strategy Director at Lodge Service, says:
“Signing the covenant demonstrates how we support employees as reservists and veterans. We are also helping veterans to join the UK security sector, where their skills can be actively and constructively employed, with additional training and qualifications, which is where we can help.
“Any company that becomes a forces friendly employer can benefit from the wide range of unique skills and experiences that reservists and veterans can bring to their organisation. Employing armed forces community members can help further diversify the talent in a company’s workforce.”
